Special Report
At the San Jose Mercury News, I had a great opportunity to design an in-depth special section on Olympians in California. I enjoyed a close collaboration with the sports editor, photojournalists, graphics artists and copy editors while planning, iterating and creating the section. With our journalists in Athens and the San Francisco Bay Area, I combined data, explanatory graphics, stories and photos to form a visually compelling narrative.
The special section earned a prestigious Gold Medal from the global Society for News Design.
